Driver CPC requirement temporary changes

1 April 2020

The Department for Transport have stated that it may be difficult for drivers to complete the required Driver CPC training during the COVID-19 outbreak. In response, they have announced temporary changes in professional driver qualification requirements for those who cannot complete their training.

Drivers whose Driver CPC card expires in the period from 1 March to 30 September 2020, can continue driving. Drivers should carry their expired Driver CPC card and drivers that this measure applies to will be required to comply with Driver CPC rules from 1 October 2020. The latest update and full announcement from the DfT is available here.

This move by the DfT is great for drivers who are unable to carry out their Driver CPC training during this period. The movement of sixteen of our courses to an online service will provide a great option for those who wish to continue with their Driver CPC training remotely, whether to complete a 7-hours refresher or the full 35 hours.
