DriveWise’s Banksman Course has been developed to give nominated personnel the skills and knowledge to guide vehicles safely around business premises.
The aim of the course is to introduce the attendees to the duties and responsibilities of being a banksman, give them the skills and knowledge to guide a vehicle safely and enable them to control the manoeuvring area where other people/vehicles are using the same space.
This half day course will commence with a theory session where the DriveWise trainer will introduce the duties of a banksman and provide the delegates the opportunity to practice relevant signals in the safety of a classroom prior to practice in a live environment.
Topics covered in the course include:
The live environment training will be conducted in a suitable manoeuvring area, ideally away from other vehicles until the trainer believes the delegates are competent in their abilities.
The attendees will undertake training in the correct use of arm signals, reversing and moving vehicles in restricted spaces, how to carry out a dynamic risk assessment of the manoeuvring area and communicating effectively with all users within the manoeuvring area.
Personal Plan – The DriveWise coach will assess the competence of each delegate prior to approving them as banksmen. A report will be written by the trainer and a certificate of attendance can be issued upon request.
