Find out about our fast-track Cat. C+E training
A Class 2 driver is qualified to drive a truck over 3,500kg, including a trailer weighing up to 750kg.
This smaller truck, frequently referred to as a rigid, and weighing up to 32 tonnes, is normally used for making local and domestic deliveries.
The HGV Class 2 training route is the most popular one for new commercial vehicle drivers to take, as your Cat. C licence also automatically qualifies you to drive any vehicle covered by the Category C1 licence (vehicles over 3.5 tonne but below 7.5 tonne).
New rules mean that you can train directly for your Cat. C+E licence, without taking your Cat. C test first. Or, you may only wish to gain your Cat. C licence. You can still upgrade to your Cat. C+E at a later date.
