Driver Hire Dundee offers a diverse range of Driver CPC training courses to transport operators and individual drivers across the Dundee and Perth postcode areas. All of them are designed to make the best possible use of training time.
What we’re not about is a box ticking exercise that simply says you’ve spent seven hours in a training room. We’re here to deliver well planned, interesting and relevant training that, once completed, can be put to everyday use. So, for instance, whilst our refresher course on ‘Drivers’ Hours’ is always popular, customers are increasingly opting for a wider range of subjects: ‘Fuel Efficient Driving’, ‘Tachograph rules’ and ‘Dealing with on-road occurrences’ are examples of courses that continue to be in demand.
Driver Hire Dundee has its own dedicated Driver CPC training room. It’s part of our office complex here in the centre of Dundee. Fully equipped, the room is designed to take up to 20 people. There are tea and coffee making facilities and we can promise you a plentiful supply of biscuits! A full buffet lunch is included in the price of all our courses.
If you’re an employer and would find it more convenient to run training courses at your depot – and have suitable facilities – we can do that too. However, if we’re training ‘off-site’ we do need a minimum of ten drivers per course.
As you’d expect, because we’re in the town centre, there’s plenty of convenient parking with four car parks within five minutes walk of the office. If you’d rather have a day off from driving, using public transport is equally easy. Regular bus services run along Whitehall Street; Dundee railway station is about five minutes walk away.
If you’re looking for a trainer with experience, Robin Gowen is your man. First and foremost, he’s got over 40 years’ work in the road transport industry behind him. A category C and PCV licence holder, when Robin isn’t in the training room, you’ll more than likely find him behind the wheel, completing another shift for Driver Hire.
And he’s also got the experience when it comes to training. Over the past seven years, Robin has delivered over 350 training days and helped around 3,500 professional drivers meet their Driver CPC training requirements. Post-course independent feedback from 90% of Robin’s Driver CPC trainees’ rate him as ‘Excellent.
And, if you want more, Robin is also a university graduate. He has a BA honours degree in Industrial Transportation.
