Driver Hire Swindon has been in business for nearly twenty years. Our longevity is a mark of our success. Our success over the past two decades is based on listening to and understanding customer needs and then using our knowledge and expertise to meet those needs. That’s why, seven years ago, we added Driver CPC training to the services we offer to our clients and our drivers.
Driver Hire Swindon’s Driver CPC training is one of the most comprehensive in the area. We offer eleven modules covering a wide of subjects. They include Fuel Efficient Driving, Health & Safety and Delivery Driving in the UK. Our most popular module is EU Drivers’ Hours & Digitial Tachograph law.
Training at Driver Hire Swindon takes place once a month when we offer a full 35-hour week of training. We do the same module on the same day of the week. This enables you to complete training on days that suit you and your business best.
Our weekly training schedule is as follows:
Monday: On road occurrences, Customer service
Tuesday: Drivers’ Hours, Digital tachographs
Wednesday: Driving the UK, Delivery Driving
Thursday: Fuel efficient driving, Road traffic laws
Friday: Health & Safety, Transport & site related Health & Safety
Our dedicated on-site training facility can take up to six trainees. More than that and we’ll find a suitable alternative venue.
Travel to our office is both easy and convenient. The nearest car park is the Brunel Car Park in the centre of Swindon. We’re also well served by public transport with a bus stop just 200 yards away.
We have free tea and coffee making facilities. Lunch isn’t provided but there are plenty of local food shops within easy reach.

Before becoming a trainer, Nick got lots of experience using his cat C licence (acquired in May 2008) to drive for us and Driver Hire Gloucester. During this time he reckons he drove for over 100 clients including Cemex, Hotpoint, Bensons for Beds and Moben Kitchens.
Nick is well aware that there is still some resistance to Driver CPC training. A “what can you tell me? I’ve been driving thirty years” attitude. He’s enthusiastic about training and that comes through in the classroom. He always finds that drivers have gaps in their knowledge and, as the training session continues, attitudes change. Areas on which most drivers fall short are Drivers’ Hours and road signs.
His personal objective is to make this the best day’s Driver CPC training you’ve ever had. With over 300 training sessions under his belt, Nick certainly has the experience to deliver on that and deliver the day’s objectives. Nick most enjoys delivering courses on Drivers’ Hours. He’s recently added the FORS Professional Van Smart and Safe Urban Driving to the list of modules he delivers which he’s really enjoying.
Because he was a driver he can tailor his training to suit both clients and drivers. He uses a free flowing and interactive style to ensure that all his trainees make the most of their day in the classroom.
