Now that the UK has left the EU, transport industry professionals need to adapt to new arrangements for driving to, and in Europe.

This module aims to inform drivers who travel through the various ports into Europe of the changes and helps to prepare them for long distance, multi-country travelling.

The course includes:

• The permits system and customs requirements
• Paperwork requirements for exporting to the EU
• Drivers’ hours and rest periods
• Essential equipment required by law
• Driver comfort and safety
• The potential hazards of driving on the right
• Speed limit awareness
• Road numbering and route planning
• Drink/drug driving limits
• European signs, signals and road markings
• Duty free allowances

Course Objective

By the end of the course, attendees will have a better understanding of how to cross international borders with the EU legally and drive safely on the European road network.

Course Suitability

This course is suitable for both HGV and PCV licence holders

Module Duration – 3½ hours
This module is combined with another of our other 3½ hour courses to complete the required 7 hours of Driver CPC training.
