Managing Safely Refresher (IOSH)

The IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course is an engaging and practical one-day course which helps organisations to embed and enhance safety and health best practice, and maintain a positive health and safety culture.

Introduction

This tutor-led course is delivered remotely and focuses on a Plan-Do-Check-Act safety and health management system. It includes though provoking case-studies and memorable facts that could be shared with your whole team.

Who should attend?

The Managing Safely Refresher is aimed at managers or supervisors who have already passed the IOSH Managing Safely Course and would like to refresh their knowledge.

Course content

Delegates reflect on what they took away from the Managing Safely course. They’ll also revisit the key reasons for managing safely.

Leadership

• Why leadership is important, and how to create a positive safety culture

Plan

• Looks at a safety and health policy and how to deliver it

Do

• Delegates will carry out a risk assessment exercise and consider how best to communicate their findings to the workforce

Check

• Takes a look at data types, what can be measured, and how this helps to assess whether the Health & Safety plan is effective

Act

• Looks at why reviewing performance, acting on lessons learned and striving to improve are essential

Delegates then reflect on how they’ll apply what they’ve learned in their own workplace

At the end of the course, delegates will complete a multi-format paper containing 21 questions. Successful delegates are awarded an industry-recognised IOSH certificate.

Training options

Public and private courses are available. If only one or two delegates require training, they may join one of our public courses, with delegates from other organisations. Private courses are recommended for larger numbers of delegates from the same organisation.

Attending courses in our virtual classroom is easy. You can join our video calls via any PC, laptop, mobile phone or tablet. And during the course, you’ll be able to visually engage and interact with both your tutor and other delegates.
