Understanding Operational Risks and Terrorism – Available Online
(FORS Professional)

Driver CPC

The operational risks faced by organisations in the transport and logistics industry are varied and come from different sources.

Many have experienced both opportunist and well-organised criminal activity, and some have even been exposed to terrorist threats. This FORS accredited course gives drivers a good understanding of the risks and threats, and more importantly how to respond to them appropriately without being exposed to further risk. The course is especially relevant where high value goods are being moved around the UK and Europe.

The course includes:

  • Operational risks faced by the transport industry
  • Potential terrorism threats
  • Mitigating theft from vehicles
  • Security management systems
  • Recognising risk
  • Responding to vulnerabilities
  • Driver responsibilities
  • Dealing with clandestine entrants

Course objectives
Attendees will learn more about how to recognise potential risks to the business and individuals, how transport might be misused for terrorist activities, the importance of implementing a Security Management System and what actions can be taken to reduce the risks and threats.
